At GPXWAY, we believe your location data belongs to you. Our core philosophy is built around a privacy-first, client-side approach, ensuring maximum security for your sensitive GPS tracks.

1. The 100% Local Processing Guarantee

We do not upload, transmit, store, or save your GPX files to any server.

Whether you are viewing a track in 3D, converting a file to FIT format for your Garmin device, or exporting to Google Earth (KML), all processing happens directly inside your web browser using JavaScript. Your files never leave your computer or mobile device. Once you refresh or close the browser tab, the session data is destroyed.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Because of our client-side architecture, we do not have access to, nor do we collect:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number (unless you explicitly email us for support).
  • Account passwords (GPXWAY does not require an account).
  • The contents of your GPS routes, tracks, waypoints, or elevation history.
  • Your exact physical location while using the tool.

3. Third-Party Services & Integrations

To provide a rich mapping experience, GPXWAY utilizes industry-leading map tile providers:

  • Mapbox: Our interactive 2D and 3D map viewers are powered by Mapbox GL JS. When viewing a map, your browser connects to Mapbox's servers to download map tiles (the visual streets and terrain). Your browser's IP address is exposed to Mapbox during this generic tile request. No GPX data or personal tracks are ever sent to Mapbox. You can read more in the Mapbox Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

GPXWAY focuses strictly on fulfilling its utility functionality. We:

  • Do not use tracking cookies or marketing pixels.
  • Utilize Google Analytics to monitor anonymous website traffic and performance. No personal GPS data or uploaded file content is ever shared with or stored by Google.
  • May use brief localStorage within your browser solely to remember UI preferences (such as Light/Dark mode).
